Even taking into account what he does to Sarah, this poor kid can tear your heart out sometimes.

I've been thinking about this strip, and it seems as though it has two missions to accomplish before it concludes. (Assuming it will, one day): Sarah's mom has to accept her, and Chuck has to accept her. Not only that, has to let Sarah help him. It seems as though he needs to be rescued from an intolerable situation.
