Oh yes, I remember her, all right....=) And if I know her, she's going to put a torch to that bathing suit she's forced to wear.

So Mars was a Girl Cadette at one time, was he? It might be interesting to see that in flashbacks (huge honkin' hint!) We haven't been told the story of his transition yet.

I'm gonna confess something here and now: if I could get away with it, I'd tooooootally go the Burqini route when swimming. but then I don't have Basanti's figure, nor am I hoping to impress a boy I like. ;')

I really like them..... it beats squeezing this body into a standard suit. I really hope suits like it take off outside of Muslim circles.

Come to think of it, Christine, that Muslim bathing suit might work for me, too. I don't have the greatest looking body, and I'm not exactly svelte. That could cover a multitude of flaws.

I can't get over how much it reminds me of the old-timey bathing costumes from the 1890s, though.

If I may make another comment I neglected to mention last time, considering how progressive Basanti's mother says she is, you'd think she'd compromise by having Basanti wear a one-piece bathing suit.

Well the question is 'progressive relative to what?" Is you grew up not letting a man touch you in any way until marriage and you're unable to date unchaperoned and without the ultimate intent to marry, letting your daughter do both is /very/ progressive, which is why Basanti's mom sees it this way. =)
