Wow!  I just wanna hug Sarah in this one. That is a lot of strength in a Small Package!

Celebrate who you are and to hell with everyone who tries to force their values on you.

I had never seen your comic before today, and I must say that I have fallen in love with it! I just finished reading every...single...one! It took a few hours, but it was so worth it!

I can fully identify with Sarah (and, to a lesser degree, Irma), and wish only that I had realized it 20 years ago, things would've been so different. Sadly, the economy has robbed me of the money to do anything about it now, but at least I can be myself in other ways. This comic has helped me understand that Wink

Thank you, Christine, and I'm eagerly awaiting Friday so I can read the next one!

If anything nobody hurts her more than her mother. Abuse and hatred is rarely as venomous as when it comes from a loved one.

Abuse = debatable. Hatred = absolutely not. Wendy isn't afraid OF Sarah, she's afraid FOR her.

She is doing the wrong things, I agree, but she's not done anything out of hatred. What makes it so painful is that, right or wrong, she's doing everything out of love for her child. As an earlier comic said, parents can have a tough time differentiating fear from love when it comes to their children.

Dang... while I'm proud of her, I'm actually really sad that Sarah has to be this strong. She's in the hospital from a concussion from a hateful bully, and her mother's implying that it's Sarah's fault by asking her to stop being herself.

Target the bully's behavior, not the victim's.

I still wonder what Penny's mother tried to drink away.
